Tiffany Stratton took a step towards stardom in WWE Money in the Bank 2024.
The 25-year-old former NXT star outlasted five other superstars to win Money in the Bank’s coveted women’s briefcase. Stratton was able to stop by Chelsea Green to pick up the briefcase, and now he is only one cash away from becoming a World Cup. champion.
Widely praised by professional wrestling legends like Paul Heyman and Booker T, Stratton is perhaps the most hyped NXT call in the women’s department that WWE has ever had. When he moved up to the SmackDown roster in early 2024, expectations for Stratton were already very high. , however, the strong public reactions it temporarily generated surprised even WWE officials.
However, no one is surprised that Stratton is now the money lady in the bank.
Despite the behind-the-scenes warmth rumors that led to his removal from the screen, WWE officials would see big things in Stratton’s future. Just six months after her time on SmackDown, Stratton has become the eighth women’s MITB winner, joining a prestigious roster that includes Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Bayley and current Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan. So far, all female MITB holders who have been able to take advantage have done so successfully, and there is little explanation as to why Stratton would not possibly pursue it.
WWE’s women’s department has largely revolved around the same handful of stars for the past five years. This includes Becky Lynch, who is a free agent as of late, as well as long-time Hall of Famers like Bianca Belair and Charlotte Flair. Every once in a while, one or two new stars manage to break through and win gold at the world championships, like Sky, Morgan, and Rhea Ripley.
But with the vast majority of the WWE women’s team remaining on the sidelines for the world title, Stratton is the best candidate to breathe new life into the championship scene.
Although Stratton has been wrestling for less than three years, she has already made several starring appearances, adding a role at this year’s Elimination Chamber event and a notable role opposite Becky Lynch at NXT’s No Mercy event last year.
The Money in the Bank briefcase is the most productive catalyst for a Stratton. So that? Well, the briefcase is most productive used as a heel and is intended to serve as a launching pad for a rising star. Stratton, of course, checks either box as a new star playing a villain and is the best candidate to capture the cash.
There is no rush with Stratton either.
WWE artistic director Triple H has proven that he has a lot of patience when it comes to long-term storytelling and consistently creates engaging content that helps keep most of WWE’s stars in applicable storylines. Stratton has already acclimated to the top roster quite well, but with up to a year under his belt before joining it, there will be no question about whether he’s ready.
Stratton is an absolute bargain, and once you take advantage of that MITB briefcase, you’re in for a treat.
