Xi emphasizes ecological conservation and progress of Qinghai-Xizang Plateau

President Xi Jinping highlighted the relentless efforts to protect the ecology of the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau during an inspection excursion to Qinghai Province from Tuesday to Wednesday.

Xi, also general secretary of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chairman of the Central Military Commission, also called on the province to promote progress by deepening reforms, expanding opening-up and pursuing green progress, ethnic unity and non-unusual progress. .

The plateau, in northwestern China, is home to rich, varied but fragile ecosystems. It is home to the Sanjiangyuan region, nicknamed “the water tower of China,” where the Yangtze, Yellow, and Lancang rivers originate.

Qinghai is a province where ethnic minority teams are concentrated.

On Tuesday afternoon, Xi visited a high school in Xining, the provincial capital. It is a boarding school financed and built with the collaboration of Shanghai and welcomes students from ethnic minorities from the pastoral spaces of the Tibetan autonomous prefecture of Golog.

Xi visited the school dining hall, a dormitory and a classroom where he listened to students communicate how they had been replaced and saw the students’ drawings.

Xi highlighted the remarkable achievements of collaboration between the eastern and western regions of the country as well as joint assistance, especially in the field of education.

This fully demonstrates the strength of the Party leadership and socialist formula with Chinese characteristics, as well as the mutual union among the members of the Chinese nation’s wonderful circle of relatives, Mr. Xi said.

Twin assistance plays a very important role in China’s development. The twinning of evolved and under-evolved regions is prevalent in all sectors, adding health, education and industry. In this context, capital, professional personnel and other resources are directed from the richest regions to those who are lagging behind to publicize their development.

In the campus square, Xi surrounded professors and academics. He expressed hope that scholars will take a close look and strive for a bright future.

Xi later visited the centuries-old Hongjue Temple. He said the temple has played a role as a bridge in strengthening ties between the central government and Tibetan Buddhism over generations.

“It is imperative to learn about this valuable ancient and cultural heritage and renew efforts to foster a strong sense of network between the Chinese country and promote ethnic unity and progress,” Xi said.

He expressed his hope that the Tibetan Buddhist circle in the province will instill the beautiful traditions of patriotism, promote religious, social and ethnic harmony, and play an active role in advancing China’s modernization.
